10. The Popular Monster (A népszerű szörnyeteg) 2019-20
Short after the success of the Drugs Trilogy singles, Ronnie Radke wrote and released Falling In Reverse's biggest hit up to that date, the single/song called "Popular Monster". He wrote it in collaboration with Tyler Smyth and Cody Quistad, and continued on the genre bending by composing mainly rap verses, heavy metal style chorus and having a hardcore breakdown in the middle of the song. This time the metalcore parts were more accented, leaning the song towards a rap-metal or nu-metal sounding.

The song begins with Ronnie rapping in a strange, low, monotone way, he never did before. He always raps out loud, energetic and angry-like, but he was pretty down that period of time and this sounding reflected how he really felt. First Ronnie wanted to drop that version, but producer Tyler insisted they should keep and use it in the song.
He found Jensen Noen for the video. It was about to tell the story of a depressed hero accused falsely and torn down by the hating society. It's the tragedy of someone pushed too far. "Call someone a monster enough times and watch that person become that monster."* When he told he wanted to turn into a werewolf on the screen, it sounded weird, but Jensen reassured him that it would be fine, he just needs more time.
"It's crazy that a song about depression brought me to a new level of happiness."*
"Popular Monster" was ranked #1 in late 2019 on the US Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs. At the end of 2020, it was ranked #1 on Octane Sirius XM as the most played rock song on the radio in the United States. The single was certified gold on December 8, 2020 by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), on October 31, 2021 it went platinum for the first time, and on December 31, 2022 went platinum 2nd time again. As of 2022, the song has over 200 million streams on Spotify.
The song began to gain popularity on the TikTok video platform, several users used it for their videos, this also helped to continue the trend. It was also the entrance theme of British wrestler Zak Zodiac brother of Ronnie Radke's partner and All Elite Wrestling wrestler, Saraya. On October 23, 2020, Swedish duo DJs Galantis and American DJ Nghtmre released a remix version of the song.
Soon after Ronnie finished and released "Popular Monster", the pandemic striked and the worldwide lockdown began. He kept working on new songs and released singles, one of them, "Carry On" was already almost finished, and 2 remakes of older songs which will be detailed in the next chapter.
Carry On (2020) Epitaph Records
The song "Carry On" was planned to be a bonus track on Coming Home, but finally Ronnie left it out of the album and postponed to a later date. In the lockdown he had time to finish it and bring it to the level of perfection. The song is relating to Coming Home album's ambient sounds and atmospheric tone, but it has a particular density in electrical sounding in the background and a specific lyrical tune. Video hasn't been made to it and FIR never plays it live but except for that the song is a true masterpiece.
