9. A New Era Begins (Új korszak kezdődik) 2018-19
As he decided right after the release of Coming Home, Ronnie quit making albums anymore. Listening to music changed basically after 2010, CDs were replaced by mp3s and audio files stored on PCs and shared on the internet. Streaming sites were formed where users could pick separate songs from an album to listen, even make their own compilations with their favorites. Albums lost their significance, and even though rock music was never a pioneer in changing, more of an established classic, Ronnie was a forward thinker: he wanted to create hits only, memorable songs instead of mediocre album filler works which were always inevitable for every album-releasing rock band.
The breakthrough into the singles world was with the Drugs Trilogy, released in 2018/19, and containing 3 separate songs sonically, atmospherically and melodically relating to each other; they were called "trilogy" unofficially, actually those 3 songs were all singles on their own.
Losing My Mind (Febr. 2018) Epitaph Records
This song continued on Coming Home with an even more electronic-based amospheric sounding, plus brought back rap/hip-hop to make the genre fusion complete. The music was produced with Tyler Smyth and Cody Stewart, the video was directed by Ethan Lader. "The bright neon and futuristic flourishes"* became not only the single's, but the whole Trilogy's hallmark.
On the first tour with the new release Tyler Burgess joined the band and turned on bass, so Zakk switched to keyboards and additional guitar. Ronnie tried more drummers after Ryan, finally Brandon Richter was who joined that tour. Christian temporarily went off and Max Georgiev took his place on lead guitars.
Losing My Life (June 2018) Epitaph Records
The song not only related to but continued the story of "Losing My Mind" to "the dichotomies and parallels between self-reflection and self-destruction"* The video presented a doubled persona of Ronnie quarrelling, referring to the good and evil parts turning against each-other within his soul.
When the success of these 2 singles became already obvious, Ronnie worked out with his label, Epitaph Records to stop releasing albums and stick to singles in the future. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but he took the risks and his intuition was right as always: the idea of singles exceeded both creative and commercial expectations.
Drugs (April 2019) Epitaph Records
The 3rd song of the Trilogy kept the sounding, the vibes and the neon flashes, but turned out more melodic and also more heavy at the same time. It became a real hit. Ronnie had the dream of making a collab with Corey Taylor, singer of Slipknot, who he admired for so long. He asked Corey if he'd do the screaming part of the song and Corey gladly accepted. They even did the song's extremely hard hitting video together, which followed on with the psychedelic story Ronnie and Ethan Lader imagined.
Zakk left, and in fact only Tyler and Derek joined Ronnie on the "Drugs" video. Not having a drummer, Ronnie invited Christian Coma from Black Veil Brides to join FIR and played with him during the video and the several tours following.
Overall the Trilogy's success was way significant, especially the song's "Drugs", though Ronnie thought that one will only affect certain layers of people. Later it turned out to be almost as banger on concerts as "Popular Monster", the 4th single coming right after the Trilogy, but let that be the next chapter's matter.

FIR in front of an increasingly large audience |
The year of 2018 was not only important because of starting on singles and lifting FIR over a new era; it was just as important for Ronnie to have met world champion wrestler, Saraya Bevis, his dream-girl, who very soon turned to be the love of his life. (⬇⬇⬇)
